Saving Money the Easy Way!
This is part one, of a series, I intend to create into a handy e-book that will save you literally thousands of dollars a week and show you many easy ways to survive and thrive during the economic crisis.
You need to save money, but cannot seem to find a cent anywhere. Perhaps, you don’t have to save the money you earn, but rather the money you spend.
When it comes to saving money, most of us believe we need to aggressively slice into those hard earned dollars from our paychecks in order save a little on the side. Though it is often harder than it seems. Saving money can be difficult to accomplish when home finances are tight however, the best ways to save money are in the places you never thought possible.
I have compiled a list that might just put a smile on your face and a bulge in your bank account.
The Bank
Yes, the bank is where you keep all your money, but they can also help you to save money over time. Some banks now, for instance, have special offers for example that will round up all of your purchases to the nearest dollar and place that money into a savings account. Over time, this money will add up. Every cent counts.
The Utility Company
When you sign up for your utility contracts, you often enter into a “plan”. This plan may change over time, but you may be left in the old plan, paying the old prices. Every once in a while, call your utility companies (phone, energy, cable) to see if you are getting the absolute best deal available on the services they are providing.
Also try the website www.Energy Saving Trust.co.uk – save up to £250/year and save the planet by reducing your bills.
Shopping
One of the most effective ways to save money is not clipping coupons anymore. Instead compare the cost of your supermarket shopping bill and look for today’s bargains to find the cheapest prices across many of the biggest supermarkets. This often includes food items. When you save money on food, that money stays in your pocket to go into savings for the future.
There are also handy Cash back money sites where you can earn as you spend on those necessities of life. Rather than paying commission to retailers, you earn the commission yourself by buying through these sites. Here are a few that I’ve found for you :
* Quidco - earn money from commission on the products that you are already going to buy!
* Top Cash Back – same as Quidco but they are more generous.
* Give or Take – allows you to take the commission earned from buying products or give it to charity.
Other websites that help you to save money include!
* Read it, swap it – book swapping service to help those share books that they no longer read and get recommendations for new books.
* Envirophone - make money from your old mobile phone by sending it their way!
* The Little House Company – don’t pay commission on selling your house, just pay a small one-off fee.
When you have finally managed to save for that holiday, why not continue saving whilst your on your trip. Some money saving travel websites include :
* Kayak or Skyscanner- searches and finds some of the cheapest deals available for scheduled flights and hotels from around the world.
* Travel Zoo -search for cheap flights and hotels with this great portal.
Remember when aiming to save, always try to put away the difference between what you would have paid and the new, lower price you were able to pay.
Saving money is the only way many people can achieve their dreams. College educations, family vacations and sometimes making ends meat can all be bolstered by a healthy savings account on hand at all times. The money you save does not have to come out of the paycheck you earn, when you look more closely at the money you spend every month.
